About Domaine Ramonet
Pierre Ramonet built the estate from a few rows in Chassagne between the wars and was among the first Burgundy growers to bottle his own wine and sell it into the United States. His grandsons Noël and Jean-Claude have run it since the 1980s. The domaine holds parcels in Le Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and a long list of Chassagne premier crus led by Les Ruchottes, Les Caillerets, Les Vergers and Morgeot. Picking is late by Chassagne standards and the wines spend a long time on their lees, which is why young bottles can seem broad and unformed.
