Berry Bros & Rudd Berry's Own Selection Vintage Port 1997 1500ml

Berry Bros. & Rudd, the London wine merchant trading from the same St James's Street shop since 1698, has long bottled its own selections of classic wines, including vintage Port sourced from leading Douro shippers. 1997 was a widely declared Port vintage, known for wines of ripe, concentrated fruit and firm structure. After more than 25 years, this bottling should show the hallmarks of mature vintage Port: dark plum, black cherry and fig fruit softening into notes of spice, chocolate, licorice and dried fruit, with sweetness and tannin now well integrated. The magnum format ages more slowly and gracefully than a standard bottle. Stand it upright for a day and decant off its sediment before serving.
