Russell Bevan's The Calixtro comes from the Tench Vineyard on the east side of Oakville, a site behind some of the most acclaimed Cabernets of the past decade. The 2018, from a long, ideal Napa growing season, earned a perfect 100 points from Jeb Dunnuck, who called it "pure perfection," plus 99 from Wine Advocate and 97 from Vinous. Expect a decadent, concentrated wine with red and blue fruits, spring flowers, spice and a savory, iron-like edge. Aged 19 months in new French oak, it's delicious now and built for 20-plus years.
