The 2019 Calixtro from Bevan Cellars is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a tiny parcel on the southern edge of the Tench Vineyard in eastern Oakville. Jeb Dunnuck awarded it a perfect 100 points, describing ripe currants, iron, black cherries, graphite and spicy, meaty notes, with flawless balance and supple tannins. In his words, it delivers "a rare mix of purity, precision, and opulence." 2019 was a warm, even vintage in Napa that produced generous, polished wines, and this one should cruise for another two decades.
