Bevan Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Sage Ridge Vineyard Saint Helena 2017 750ml

Bevan Cellars has built a cult following for lush, expressive Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from top vineyard sources, and its Sage Ridge Vineyard bottling comes from Saint Helena. The 2017 is a rich, opulent example from a warm vintage, with black fruits, olive tapenade, tobacco, salted meat and mocha on the nose. Floral lift and notes of red cherry, leather and licorice add complexity on a plush palate with sweet tannins and no hard edges. Jeb Dunnuck singled it out as "one of the sexiest, most plush and opulent wines in the vintage." Delicious now, it should continue drinking well through the early 2030s.
