Bevan Cellars Proprietary Red Two Dog Knoll Vineyard 2013 750ml

Russell Bevan has built a cult following for bold, personality-packed Napa Valley reds, and Two Dog Knoll is among his most unusual. Drawn from an Oakville site, the 2013 Proprietary Red blends 55% Petit Verdot with 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, a combination that could easily turn rustic. Wine Advocate felt Bevan "handled it brilliantly," describing an inky blue-purple wine with blueberry liqueur, brioche, acacia flowers, roasted meats and herbs, and calling it "singular and distinct." The outstanding 2013 Napa vintage delivered both ripeness and structure. Now beginning to open up, it should continue drinking well into the late 2030s.
