Boars' View Pinot Noir BDR Sonoma Coast 2019 750ml

Boars' View is the Sonoma Coast project of Fred and Carol Schrader, the family behind Schrader Cellars' celebrated Napa Cabernets, with an estate vineyard high above the Pacific in the Fort Ross-Seaview appellation. The 2019 was the inaugural vintage of BDR, a Pinot Noir built from California heritage clones, 71% Mount Eden and 29% Swan. Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown aged it for about 10 months in French oak, half of it new. The cool, foggy, windswept site gives Pinot Noir bright acidity and intensity, and 2019 was a balanced, even year on the coast. Expect red cherry, raspberry, forest floor and spice with fine structure. Drink now through about 2030.
