Boars' View is Fred and Carol Schrader's estate on a windswept ridge in the far western Sonoma Coast, in the Fort Ross–Seaview area, where marine air, exposed slopes and well-drained soils yield Pinot Noir of real freshness and minerality. The 2016 Pinot Noir The Coast drew strong praise from Jeb Dunnuck, who found it "drinking beautifully today" with mint-laced black cherry, clove, cinnamon and a classic California conifer note. Medium to full-bodied, it pairs pure fruit with excellent balance. Wine Spectator highlighted its crunchy acidity, macerated cherry and raspberry, and a spicy finish touched with forest floor and stone. Enjoy it now through the end of the decade.
