Charles Lachaux has become one of Burgundy's most closely watched young vignerons since taking over his family's Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux in Vosne-Romanée, where he has moved toward more natural farming, whole-cluster fermentation and gentler extraction. Alongside the domaine he runs a small négociant label, buying fruit from growers whose farming he trusts. La Croix Blanche is his Bourgogne Rouge, a Pinot Noir that delivers far more detail and texture than its humble appellation suggests. The 2022 growing season was warm and sunny across the Côte d'Or, producing ripe, generous fruit with enough freshness to keep it lively. Expect bright red berries, spice and floral notes on a silky frame. Enjoy now through the early 2030s.
