Charles Lachaux took over his family's Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux in Vosne-Romanée in the 2010s and quickly became one of Burgundy's most talked-about young vignerons, known for attentive, regenerative-minded farming and tall, untrimmed vines. He also bottles a small range under his own name, including this Nuits-Saint-Georges from the lieu-dit La Petite Charmotte. 2022 was a warm, sunny vintage in the Côte de Nuits that delivered ripe, generous Pinot Noir with surprising freshness. Expect a perfumed, silky red with red and dark cherry, rose petal, spice and a fine mineral line. Approachable now with decanting, it should reward cellaring into the late 2030s.
