Charles Lachaux, who directs Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, also runs a small négociant label under his own name, working with purchased grapes in a deliberately simple, natural style: whole clusters, native yeasts, no added sulfur during vinification and only older barrels. His 2019 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots comes from a parcel neighboring his family's holdings in this famous premier cru, bordering Romanée-Saint-Vivant and Échézeaux. Wine Advocate found raspberry, cherry, plum, rose petal and orange peel, calling it "pretty and delicate" with powdery tannins and a saline finish. Layered and lively, it should be at its best from about 2026 through 2040.
