Al Brounstein founded Diamond Creek Vineyards on Diamond Mountain in 1968 and became a pioneer of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon in California, bottling Volcanic Hill, Red Rock Terrace and Gravelly Meadow separately to show their distinct soils. The Three Vineyard Blend brings fruit from these celebrated sites together in one wine, combining the power of volcanic ash, the elegance of red iron-rich soils and the minerality of gravel. 2019 was a balanced, even growing season in Napa Valley that produced polished, structured Cabernets. Expect dark currant, cedar and graphite with firm mountain tannins. Approachable with decanting now, it should drink well through the 2030s.
