Cécile Tremblay has become one of the most sought-after small growers in the Côte de Nuits, prized for perfumed, finely textured Pinot Noir. Her Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard draws on vines of various ages, some as old as 80 years, and in 2022 the cuvée gained a hectare of village vines beside her existing parcels after she recovered plots that had been rented out. Decanter called it "a lovely, supple flagship for the village." Expect plummy fruit, blackberry and wild strawberry with hints of Ceylon tea, spice, crushed stone and iris over a silky, very fine texture. Generous enough to enjoy now, it has the substance to keep improving over the next decade.
