Domaine Georges Roumier in Chambolle-Musigny, led by Christophe Roumier, is one of Burgundy's most coveted names, and its Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is a cornerstone of the range. The 2008 vintage, cool and initially overlooked, produced fresh, transparent Pinot Noir that has aged superbly. Wine Advocate rated this wine 98 points, calling it "a huge, intense wine endowed with tons of fruit," and John Gilman described it as "a great wine in the making." Expect floral, spice, red fruit and mineral notes on a silky, powerful frame with big but beautifully integrated tannins. Now opening up, it should drink well through the 2030s.
