Domaine Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru 2017 750ml

Domaine Jean Grivot is one of Vosne-Romanée's benchmark estates, and its tiny holding in Richebourg is the crown of its range. The domaine's parcel covers just 0.32 hectares of vines aged between 60 and 80 years, and only about six barrels were made in 2017. A charming, fruit-forward vintage in the Côte de Nuits produced a Richebourg of remarkable elegance, with intense blackberry, wild strawberry, sous-bois and crushed stone, filigreed tannins and chalky precision. Vinous called it "one of the most elegant Richebourgs that I have tasted," and Decanter likened it to a soprano. Approachable young, it should reward cellaring well into the 2040s.
