Domaine Louis Carillon et Fils Puligny Montrachet Les Champs Canet 1er Cru 2008 750ml

Domaine Louis Carillon was one of Puligny-Montrachet's most respected family estates, with roots in the village going back centuries, before it was divided between brothers Jacques and François Carillon after the 2009 vintage. Les Champs Canet is a Premier Cru on the northern side of Puligny, toward Meursault, prized for Chardonnay with lift, energy and a stony character. The 2008 vintage was cool and challenging until a sunny, windy September rescued the harvest, producing whites with high acidity and pronounced minerality. Expect citrus, white flowers, hazelnut and chalky notes along with the savory complexity of bottle age. Now fully mature, it is ready to drink over the next few years.
