Dominus Estate is Christian Moueix's Napa outpost, built on the historic Napanook vineyard in Yountville and run with the same precision he brought to Pétrus. The 2015 is a landmark: perfect 100-point scores from both Jeb Dunnuck and Wine Advocate, 99 from International Wine Review and 98 from Decanter and James Suckling. Dunnuck called it "a legend in the making." A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc from dry-farmed vines, it shows blackcurrant, crème de cassis, damp earth, tobacco and spring flowers with full-bodied richness and stunning purity. Approachable now with decanting, it should age for 30 years or more.
