Dominus Estate Napa Valley 2018 750ml

Dominus is Christian Moueix's Napa Valley estate, built on the historic Napanook vineyard in Yountville, where the Bordeaux vintner long associated with Pétrus crafts one of California's most Old World-styled Cabernet blends. The 2018 is a landmark: Jeb Dunnuck and James Suckling both awarded perfect 100-point scores, with 99 from Wine Advocate and 98 from Decanter and Vinous. Dunnuck called it "a magical, flawless wine." The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, offering dark currants, cedar, graphite, tobacco and floral notes with polished tannins and bright, integrated acidity. A long, even season gave beautifully balanced fruit. Best from around 2028, it should evolve for decades.
