Futo Estate Red Oakville 2015 750ml

Futo's Oakville estate spans six separate vineyard sites at 250 to 500 feet of elevation, planted on decomposed sandstone and shale from an ancient uplifted seabed, with a first vintage in 2004. The 2015 Estate Red blends 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc with Petit Verdot, and Jeb Dunnuck scored it 98 points, calling it "a tour de force." The small, concentrated 2015 crop shows in its deep purple color and huge nose of blackcurrant, crème de cassis, graphite, spice box, blueberry and crushed flowers. Full-bodied with remarkable depth, purity and building tannin, it is beginning to open now and should age well for another 15 to 20 years.
