Futo OVSL Estate Red Napa Valley 2015 750ml

Few Napa wines blend two districts as seamlessly as Futo's OV/SL, which draws on the family's Oakville and Stags Leap properties. The 2015 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, much of it co-fermented, and it earned 99 points from both Jeb Dunnuck and James Suckling. Suckling called the aromatics stunning, with blackberries, currants, flowers, light bitter chocolate and hazelnut, over ultra-polished, tightly packed tannins. Vinous noted the soft contours and silky texture typical of the small, concentrated 2015 vintage. Approaching its peak now, it should continue to drink beautifully through the late 2030s.
