Futo OVSL Estate Red Napa Valley 2016 750ml

Futo's OV/SL takes its name from the two estate sites it draws on, one in Oakville and one in the Stags Leap District, blended into a single Napa Valley red. The 2016 is a standout, earning 98 points from both Jeb Dunnuck and James Suckling. It combines 71% Cabernet Sauvignon with 19% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, bottled unfined and unfiltered. Dunnuck praised its "sensational purity of fruit," with crème de cassis, crushed rocks and floral notes, while Suckling highlighted dried flowers, currants, ultra-fine tannins and a long finish. A balanced, even growing season gave it precision and polish. Drink now through 2040.
