Futo OVSL Estate Red Napa Valley 2018 750ml

Futo is a small family estate with vineyards in two of Napa Valley's most prized Cabernet appellations, and its OV/SL blends the two: Oakville and Stags Leap District fruit, always co-fermented together. The 2018 is 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 14% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, bottled unfined and unfiltered, from a long, even growing season. James Suckling gave it 98 points and praised "saturated tannins that just fill the mouth." Crème de cassis, black cherry, plum, graphite, wildflowers, crushed stone and new leather are joined by cooler conifer and pine notes. Dense and impeccably balanced, it is entering its window now and should keep for 30 years.
