Château Giscours is one of Margaux's largest estates, a third growth in the commune of Labarde whose gravel vineyards produce some of the appellation's most generous wines. The 2022, from a hot, exceptionally dry vintage that nonetheless yielded remarkably fresh, balanced wines, earned 98 points from James Suckling. Jeb Dunnuck described cassis, black cherry, violet and graphite with ripe tannins and "a pure, graceful mouthfeel," while Decanter praised its silky, glossy texture and juicy, crunchy fruit. Concentrated and deeply colored, it may close down for a few years; plan to open it from around 2032 and enjoy it over the following two decades.
