Harbison Cabernet Sauvignon Trail Oakville 2017 750ml

Harbison Estate is a tiny Oakville property founded by Joe and Pat Harbison, longtime collectors whose earlier JP Harbison label raised millions of dollars for children's charities. In 2005 they found a small parcel on Oakville's east side, sharing the uplifted alluvial fan and red volcanic soils of the neighborhood's famed estates, and planted it to Cabernet Sauvignon. Production is minuscule, with winemaker Russell Bevan and veteran viticulturist Jim Barbour guiding the wines. The 2017 "The Trail" comes from a warm Napa vintage punctuated by a Labor Day heat wave, and it shows the house's opulent, concentrated style of dark-fruited Oakville Cabernet. Enjoy it now through the early 2030s.
