Kistler Chardonnay Stone Flat Vineyard Parmelee Hill Sonoma Coast 2016 750ml

Kistler Vineyards remains one of Sonoma's benchmark producers of Chardonnay, and Stone Flat is one of its single-vineyard bottlings, sourced from a single block and clone within the Durrell Vineyard. The 2016 is a beautifully balanced, mid-weight Chardonnay with fresh white peach, lime blossom and honeycomb, touches of almond croissant and crushed rock, and subtle lemongrass, mandarin peel and ginger with time in the glass. Wine Advocate praised its vibrant citrus and spice layers and wonderfully mineral finish, while Vinous highlighted its "impeccable overall balance." Notes of dried pear, chamomile and smoke add further nuance. At ten years old, it is drinking beautifully now and should hold through the end of the decade.
