Kosta Browne began in 1997 when restaurant colleagues Dan Kosta and Michael Browne pooled their tips to make a single barrel of wine, and it grew into one of California's most celebrated Pinot Noir houses. The 2015 Sonoma Coast came from a drought-stressed, low-yielding vintage, and Vinous noted it was the first year this bottling leaned on truly coastal sites, including the Freestone area. Jeb Dunnuck called it "straight up classic," with black raspberry, caramelized cherry, spice and forest floor. James Suckling highlighted blue fruits, dried flowers and an oyster-shell note on a vibrant, energetic, medium- to full-bodied palate.
