Kosta Browne, the Sebastopol winery that rose to fame for its expressive Sonoma Pinot Noirs, bottles Thorn Ridge Ranch as one of its single-vineyard Sonoma Coast wines. The 2021 was matured for 17 months in 48% new French oak. It shows wild strawberry and dried red cherry with orange rind, potpourri, leather and woodsy herbs, and Decanter highlighted the Christmas spice and herbal notes that add a delicious layer of complexity. Medium-bodied with a firm acid backbone and a coiled, savory finish, it reflects the concentration of the small, drought-reduced 2021 crop. Drink now through 2031.
