Domaine Laroche is one of the historic houses of Chablis, headquartered in the town's medieval Obédiencerie, and Les Blanchots is its flagship grand cru holding. Blanchots lies at the southeastern end of the grand cru hillside, and its white clay and limestone soils tend to give a more floral, finely textured Chardonnay than neighbors such as Les Clos or Valmur. The 2021 vintage was shaped by severe April frosts that slashed yields across Chablis, followed by a cool season that produced classic, tightly wound wines with bright acidity. Expect citrus, white flowers, oyster shell and chalky minerality. Approachable after decanting now, it should improve through the early 2030s.
