Domaine Lucie et Auguste Lignier was founded in Morey-Saint-Denis by Kellen Lignier after the death of her husband, Romain Lignier, in 2004, and named for their two children. The Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Cuvée Romain Lignier is the estate's tribute to him, drawn from premier cru parcels in the village. 2007 was a cooler, more delicate Burgundy vintage that produced fragrant, early-charming Pinot Noir rather than blockbusters. Expect red cherry, raspberry and dried rose with earthy, savory Morey character and a supple, silky texture. Now fully mature, this is a lovely bottle to open over the next few years.
