Domaine Lucie et Auguste Lignier was established in Morey-Saint-Denis after the early death of Romain Lignier, son of Hubert Lignier, in 2004, and takes its name from his two children. Clos les Sionnières is a village-level Morey-St-Denis climat, and this Pinot Noir shows the meaty, savory side of the commune. The 2007 vintage in the Côte de Nuits produced lighter, fresher reds that were charming early, and this one follows suit with frank red cherry and raspberry fruit, earthy spice, lively acidity and a slightly rustic tannic frame. Offered in a half bottle (375ml), which ages faster than a standard bottle, it is fully mature and best enjoyed now.
