Morey-Blanc Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Clos du Chapitre 2012 750ml

Morey-Blanc is the small négociant label of Pierre Morey, the respected Meursault vigneron who long served as régisseur at Domaine Leflaive and is a committed biodynamic farmer. Under this label the family buys grapes from carefully chosen growers, and this Pinot Noir comes from the Clos du Chapitre, a premier cru in Aloxe-Corton beneath the hill of Corton. The 2012 vintage was tiny after poor flowering and hail across the Côte de Beaune, but the surviving fruit gave concentrated, well-structured reds. Expect dark cherry, earth and spice with firm, now-softening tannins. Drink now through about 2030.
