Coup de Coeur, French for a heartfelt favorite, is Luc Morlet's top Chardonnay: a selection of the finest barrels of Old Wente clone fruit from the family's Ma Douce and Ma Princesse vineyards in Sonoma. The 2015 received a perfect 100 points from Wine Advocate, which summed it up as "mind-blowing." Expect ripe pear and peach with mandarin peel, fresh ginger, star anise and toasted cashew, carried by a silken, medium- to full-bodied texture and just enough freshness for an epic finish. Vinous highlighted its creamy depth and sense of gravitas. Rich yet poised, it is drinking beautifully now and should hold for several more years.
