Coup de Coeur is Morlet Family Vineyards' barrel selection of its finest Chardonnay, made exclusively from Old Wente clone fruit grown in the family's Sonoma Coast vineyards. The 2018 earned a perfect 100 points from Wine Advocate. A long, cool and generous 2018 growing season gave it a spectacularly complex nose of orange blossom, ripe pear, peach and lime leaf, with oyster shell, struck flint and cashew in support. Layer upon layer of citrus and stone fruit unfold on a racy, silken palate that finishes with remarkable persistence. Offered here in magnum, it should continue to develop beautifully over the next five to eight years.
