Force de la Nature is Luc Morlet's tribute to Cabernet Franc: 100% of the variety, drawn from clone 1 vines in the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville and made in tiny quantities. This 2014 is offered in a 1.5-liter magnum. Jeb Dunnuck gave it 98 points, calling it "an incredible expression of Cabernet Franc from Napa Valley." Expect red and blue fruits, crushed blackberries, black raspberry and violets with incense, blood orange, hot stones and forest floor. Elegant and seamless yet powerful, with ultra-fine tannins and a long, intense finish, it is drinking well now, and the larger format should carry it gracefully into the late 2030s.
