Morlet Syrah Bouquet Garni Bennet Valley 2013 750ml

Luc Morlet, a French-born winemaker, crafts Morlet Family Vineyards' wines in a distinctly Old World style, and Bouquet Garni is his 100% Syrah from high-elevation vineyards in Sonoma's Bennett Valley. Robert Parker compared the 2013 to a single-vineyard Côte-Rôtie from Guigal, calling it a "compelling, world-class, killer Syrah." Aromas of bacon fat, black olive tapenade, truffle, pepper, earth and grilled meat lead to a full-bodied, savory palate with real depth and a decidedly French sensibility. Vinous ranked it among the highlights of the Morlet range. Now more than a decade past the vintage, it has entered its prime and should continue drinking well through the end of the decade.
