Myriad Cellars, the label of veteran Napa winemaker Mike Smith, specializes in small-lot, vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon. Three Twins Vineyard is a rocky site at about 900 feet of elevation, looking across to Pritchard Hill on Napa Valley's eastern side. The 2017 vintage brought Labor Day heat followed by an early harvest, and this bottling is medium to full-bodied and beautifully textured. Expect cassis, blueberries, black raspberries and candied violets layered with graphite, charcoal, dark chocolate and star anise. Ripe, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity carry a voluptuous mouthfeel into a big, perfumed finish. Drink now through the early 2030s.
