A small, drought-affected harvest made the 2015 Opus One one of the most concentrated wines of the decade. James Suckling scored it 98 points, citing its "purity and brilliance," with currant, rose and fresh-leaf aromas, a full, broad-shouldered palate and superb fruit-tannin balance. Winemaker Michael Silacci fine-tuned the final blend before bottling to keep its power in check, adding freshness and precision. The blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Approachable now with a decant, it should drink well for another 15 years or more.
