Opus One Napa Valley 2016 750ml

2016 is one of Napa's finest modern vintages, and Opus One rose to the occasion. James Suckling gave it 99 points and Wine Advocate 98, both pointing to its rare combination of power and refinement. Expect blackcurrant, blueberry and black plum fruit with herbal notes of basil and bay leaf, plus lilac and spice. Wine Advocate described the palate as "a tightly coiled spring ready to explode." Full-bodied yet linear, with very fine, ripe tannins and a long mineral finish. Just entering its window now, it will reward another decade or more in the cellar.
