Rocche dell'Annunziata is one of La Morra's most celebrated crus, a steep hillside known for perfumed, finely textured Barolo. Paolo Scavino's Riserva is made only in top years and aged longer before release. The 2019 earned 98 points from James Suckling, plus 97 from Decanter, Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator. Kerin O'Keefe called it "mind-blowingly beautiful," with camphor, blue flowers, forest floor and dark spice leading to Morello cherry, raspberry, licorice and mint. Velvety, tightly woven tannins and fresh acidity frame a long, savory finish. Hold five-plus years; drink through 2050.
