Peju Province Winery Fifty/Fifty 2014 750ml

Peju is a family-owned winery in Rutherford, established by Tony and Herta Peju in the early 1980s and known for its landmark tower and gardens along Highway 29. Fifty/Fifty is its signature red blend, named for its even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, combining Cabernet's structure with Merlot's plush, rounded fruit. The 2014 vintage was another warm, early harvest in a run of drought years and produced ripe, approachable Napa Valley reds. Expect black cherry, plum and blackberry with cocoa, vanilla and sweet spice over smooth, polished tannins. Drinking well now; enjoy over the next several years.
