Peju Province Winery Sketches Napa Valley 2018 750ml

Peju Province is a family-owned winery in Rutherford, in the heart of Napa Valley, founded by Tony Peju, who bought 30 acres of well-drained, gravelly vineyard there in 1983 and named it H.B. Vineyard for his wife, Herta. The family now farms six estate vineyards around the valley, all planted to Bordeaux varieties, and Wine & Spirits named Peju its Artisan Winery of the Year in 1994. Sketches is a Napa Valley Bordeaux-style red blend drawn from that estate fruit. 2018 was a standout Napa vintage, with a long, mild, even growing season that delivered ripe fruit, fresh acidity and fine tannins. Drinking well now with some decanting, it should hold through the early 2030s.
