Drought and low yields defined the 2015 vintage, giving Peter Michael's Knights Valley Chardonnays exceptional concentration. Mon Plaisir is grown on the estate's volcanic hillsides in Sonoma County, and this vintage earned 98 points from James Suckling, who called it "incredible with fantastic depth and richness." He described cooked apple, lemon and cream on a full-bodied, creamy palate with a very long, complex finish. Wine Advocate pointed to jasmine, exotic spice, white peach, honeydew melon and guava with a satiny texture and toasty notes, while Vinous found it fleshy and inviting. Drinking beautifully now, it should hold well through the end of the decade.
