Under winemaker Nicolas Glumineau, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande produced a legendary 2016 that critics compare with its famous 1982. It earned perfect 100-point scores from Jane Anson, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate and Vinous, plus 99 from The Wine Independent. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Expect crème de cassis, leafy herbs and blackberry with licorice, cocoa and a hint of smoke, carried by silky, rippling tannins. Jane Anson praised its "tightrope-walking balance." Still young; cellar until the early 2030s and enjoy for decades.
