Pontac Lynch Quintessence 2005 750ml

Château Pontac-Lynch is a small, family-run estate in the Margaux appellation, with vineyards in Cantenac surrounded by some of the commune's famous classified growths. Quintessence is the property's special cuvée, a Cabernet Sauvignon-based selection made in limited quantities. The 2005 vintage is one of Bordeaux's legendary years: a hot, dry, sunny season produced deeply concentrated wines with ripe fruit, firm structure and exceptional aging potential. Expect blackcurrant and black cherry layered with cedar, tobacco and the violet-tinged perfume typical of Margaux, now joined by savory, earthy secondary notes. Twenty years on, this Bordeaux red is drinking well and should hold comfortably for several more years.
