Promontory Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2016 1500ml

Few modern Napa Valley wines have collected praise like the 2016 Promontory, which earned perfect 100-point scores from Jeb Dunnuck, James Suckling, Wine Advocate and The Wine Independent, plus 99 from Vinous and 98 from Decanter. The Harlan family's estate occupies a remote canyon in the western Oakville hills, and in this classic, balanced vintage its Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend showed extraordinary purity: crème de cassis, gravelly earth, cedar pencil and chocolate, with dried mushroom and wet-earth complexity. Dunnuck called it "pure perfection and a legend in the making." Presented here in magnum, a format that ages slowly and gracefully, it should be given several more years and enjoyed over the next 20 to 30.
