Rabaud Promis 1988 750ml

Château Rabaud-Promis is a Premier Cru Classé of Sauternes, located in the commune of Bommes, and 1988 was one of the region's outstanding botrytis vintages. Wine Advocate called it "fantastic," with a glorious bouquet of overripe orange, marmalade and quince that recalls the style of nearby Barsac. On the palate it is elegant and full-bodied, with dried apricot, honey, caramel and lemon notes, fresh acidity and impressive structure leading to a long finish. Nearly four decades on, this classic Sauternes has developed lovely complexity and is drinking beautifully now, though its balance will carry it for many more years.
