Simon Bize Latricieres Chambertin Grand Cru 2021 750ml

Domaine Simon Bize is the leading estate of Savigny-lès-Beaune, now run by Chisa Bize, and its holding in Latricières-Chambertin gives it a rare foothold among the grand crus of Gevrey-Chambertin. Latricières lies just south of Chambertin itself and produces Pinot Noir with a spicy, firm-edged personality. The 2021 vintage was shaped by April frost and a cool, difficult season that slashed yields, but the best growers made perfumed, transparent wines with bright acidity and moderate alcohol. Expect red cherry, raspberry and floral notes with a savory, mineral edge and fine tannins. Give it a few years in the cellar and enjoy it through the mid-2030s.
