Valrose 2005 750ml

Château Valrose is a Saint-Estèphe property in Bordeaux's northern Médoc, where clay-rich soils produce structured, dark-fruited blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The 2005 vintage was one of the finest of the decade across Bordeaux, with a dry, sunny season that delivered ripe fruit, depth and firm tannins. Wine Spectator described it as "long and beautiful, with loads of fruit and texture," noting deep plum, dark chocolate and currant aromas and soft, velvety tannins on a full-bodied palate. Now more than 20 years old, it has settled into a mature, harmonious phase, with savory cedar and earth complementing the fruit. Drink now through the end of the decade.
