Vice Versa crafts Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, and this bottling comes from Beckstoffer's famously rocky Las Piedras Vineyard near St. Helena. For 2022, the fruit came from two adjacent sections of the site and was picked around the start of that year's September heatwave, then aged roughly 20 months in mostly new French oak. Int'l Wine Review gave it 98 points and called it "an absolutely brilliant wine." Blueberry, blackcurrant and black cherry mingle with violets, pipe tobacco, espresso and crushed gravel over a full-bodied, polished palate with fresh acidity and superfine tannins. Generous and approachable young, it should reward cellaring for many years.
