Vice Versa crafts small-production Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, including this bottling from the historic Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, one of California's most storied Cabernet sites. The 2021 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 18 months in 75% new French oak. Jeb Dunnuck praised its "just about perfect balance," noting red and black currants, chalky minerality, floral incense and roasted coffee. Wine Advocate highlighted ripe red and black cherries with sage, pipe tobacco and dried spices, calling it full-bodied yet elegant, with large-scale but silky tannins. The dry, low-yielding 2021 season produced small crops of intensely concentrated Napa fruit. Give it a few years in the cellar; it should evolve for 20 to 25 years.
